Sentiment Analysis and Natural Language Processing

Sentiment analysis is extremely useful in social media monitoring as it allows us to gain an overview of the wider public opinion behind certain topics.Sentiment analysis refers to the use of natural language processing (NLP), text analysis, computational linguistics, and biometrics to systematically identify, extract, quantify, and study affective states and subjective information. Using NLP, statistics, or machine learning methods to extract, identify, or otherwise characterize the sentiment content of a text unit. Sometimes referred to as opinion mining, although the emphasis in this case is on extraction. I used AYLIEN Text Analysis API is a package of Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning-powered tools for analyzing and extracting various kinds of information from text and images.
